The Beautry Beltex flock was established in 2007 with the purchase of 6 females from the Beachy, Artnagullion, Headlind and Northern Beltex flocks along with a ram lamb from Michael Davis' Rathbone flock. Within this short period of time we have already had success on the show circuit: 1st prize shearling ram and 3rd prize ram lamb at the National Progeny show in 2009; Supreme Champion at the Skipton show and sale in 2009; 1st prize and Reserve Champion at the National Progeny show in 2010 - this female subsequently sold in 2011 to Harry Emslie for 1,300gns as a foundation ewe for his new flock.

The addition of Dooley Nissan in 2010 was made for his wonderful carcass quality and exceptional mobility. We aim to breed a Beltex of sufficient size to appeal to the commercial farmer whilst maintaining the double muscling characteristics of the breed.
