Established in 2010 with the purchase of 2 in-calf heifers at Skipton from the Croxton Park and Albion herds. In 2011 we added to the herd with 3 private purchases from Croxton Park in May 2011 and 2 purchased at the Skipton sale from the Upsall herd. We chose the Beef Shorthorn for its ability to fatten well off grass without the need for expensive concentrates. The breed is also very docile and a pleasure to work with.
Our purchases are already proving successful in the show ring with Croxton Park Tessa Rita being Breed Champion at The Royal Norfolk Show; and our highlight to date with Beautry Excalibur, son of Croxton Park Blythesom Parsley by Chapleton Wildfire, being 1st prize male calf at the National Beef Shorthorn Calf Show held at the Agri-Expo 2011.
Our aim is to keep a small herd of exceptional quality producing cattle with high growth rate, good conformation and sound mobility whilst maintaining a high health status. We are members of the CHECS Cattle Health Scheme as well as being EBLEX recorded.
