Established in 1979 with the purchase of 5 pure Dutch females and pure French ram, Annan Jaguar (pictured right). This combination of Dutch carcass quality, tight fleece and French conformation proved a very successful blend in both the show and sale rings. We were Supreme Champion at The Royal Show on 3 different occasions and topped the averages twice at The Scottish National Sale Lanark during the late 80s. One daughter of Jaguar was Beautry Margaret who was Reserve Female Champion at The Royal Show in 1983 and 1984 and when sold for 8,200gns held the world record for a female at auction. Beaurty Portia was another noted daughter being Supreme Champion at The Royal in 1987 and 1989. Males of note sired by Jaguar included: Beautry Nazarov at 7,400gns and Molotov Cocktail at 4,500gns. Sadly this flock was lost due to Foot and Mouth disease in 2001.

In 2002 the original recipe was repeated with the importation of 30 females from North Holland and the purchase of Baltier Jaguar at The Scottish National Sale for 18,000gns. Beautry Karen, a daughter of Jaguar won 1st prize ewe lamb at The Great Yorkshire Show in 2004 and then sold for 5,500gns. Jaguar himself was Champion Male at The Royal Show in 2004 and sired ram lambs to 13,000gns for Beautry Kribensis, 4,000gns for Beautry Lanzarote and 2000gns for Beautry Maugrim. This combination forms the basis of the current flock and the Dutch influence has been further enhanced with the introduction of Rathbone Leader in 2007.
Carcase quaility combined with good feet and legs continues to be a priority in breeding Texel sheep within the Beautry flock.
